South African Olympic medalist Chad Le Clos has finally tied the knot. The swimmer who won 2 silver medals at the just ended 2016 Rio Olympic Games married his longtime girlfriend, Melanie Olhaus at a private location immediately he returned to South Africa.
In 2012, Chad made Melanie Olhaus dream comes true by accompanying her to a high school dance. Melanie Olhaus secured the date after bunking off school in 2012 to greet the South African Olympic team as they returned home. At the airport, Melanie, then 17, held up a sign asking ‘Chad will you be my matric dance date?’ And, after spotting the sign, the 20-year-old swimmer agreed.
The have been dating since 2012 and the Olympic medalist decided to finally tie the knot after the Olympic glory.
Guest present at the occasion included President Jacob Zuma, Mike Tyson, Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt, Oprah Winfrey, DA Leader Mmusi Maimane , Cassper Nyovest, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Christiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Former UN Secretary General Kofi Anan, all members of the South African Olympic team among other dignitaries.
