Veniece Fung-Chung popular known as A’mari “DJ Mona Lisa” attempted suicide because of Jamaican dancehall artist Gully Bop by taking an overdose of sleeping pills at her apartment last night.
Police said A’mari has been depressed for the past few months and was under treatment which emanated from her relationship with Gully Bop. A friend discovered her in her apartment last night with froth from her mouth. She was rushed to the hospital where her condition is said to be critical.
A’mari “DJ Mona-Lisa” wrote her first song, “Ghetto Child” when she was 10 years old and recorded it at age 15 at Dynamics Sounds Recording Studio in Jamaica. At about age 17, A’mari recorded “Needing You”, another suave R&B single that she also wrote at age, fourteen.
She studied International Law at Nova Southeastern University in Florida; she also attended other colleges where she pursued studies in Psychology, Computer Programming and Criminal Justice.
Over the years she emerged into a music master rater, rating more than 10,000 songs. She is also a popular talk show host on Blog Talk Radio and a former radio producer on WNWK, WNJR and WAXY.
